Kathy Carlin
Kathy started Appalachian Hair Salon in 2001 as a booth renter in a small studio attached to a gym. Within months, she'd rented every station in the place — and not long after, moved to a larger building to take full ownership.
For the past 25 years, she's kept pace with every shift in the industry — adding custom wig and topper services, non-surgical hair grafting, and whatever else her clients have needed along the way. The work has always come second to the relationship.
She's grateful to have spent a quarter century doing what she loves, in the community she loves, and she's not planning on slowing down anytime soon.
Kim Smith
Kim Smith has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1995 — and Boone has always been home. After a few years away, she returned in 2003 and spent the next thirteen years as assistant manager at Smartcuts, building the kind of client relationships that follow you wherever you go next.
In August 2017, she made the move to Appalachian Hair Salon, where she's been ever since. A private room, a loyal clientele, and a community she genuinely loves showing up for every day.
Rebecca Worth
Rebecca Worth has spent years refining her craft — and she brings that depth to every client who sits in her chair. Her focus is on understanding what each person actually wants and delivering results that feel true to who they are.
Most recently with Christy & Co. Hair Design, Rebecca has built a reputation for making people feel genuinely at ease — and genuinely themselves — from the first appointment.
